5.0 Voting Rights and Election Procedures
5.1 Following their election, the Secretary and Treasurer shall retire annually. The President, Vice President and Committee members shall serve for a period of three years following election. All shall be eligible for re-election provided they are nominated in the normal manner.
5.2 Full Members of the Club shall receive a ballot paper for Committee Members, Hon. Treasurer and Secretary, President and Vice Presidents as appropriate issued with the Winter's edition of the Club Magazine or during January of each year, indicating how many votes are required with details of each nominee. The ballot form shall be marked up and returned to the address stipulated by the sixteenth of February. Joint Memberships shall receive two ballot papers, Single Members one and in the case of Junior Membership (under 18 years of age) there shall be no vote. Results of such ballots shall be announced by the Secretary at the Annual General Meeting. A brief synopsis detailing the background of all nominated persons shall be provided at the same time for circulation to the Membership.
5.3 Committee nominations must be received by the Secretary not later than the end of each October prior to the date for the next Annual General Meeting.
5.4 Each Officer and Member of the Committee shall be elected by the Membership by a majority vote by a postal ballot after nomination in writing, signed by two separate paid up Members of the Club, this to be supported in writing by the consent of the Nominee. If the number of candidates does not exceed the number of vacancies, a ballot will not be held.
5.5 Any fully subscribed Member of the Club who has been a Member for more than two years shall be eligible for election as an Officer or member of the Committee.
