Collecting your Puppy
You will have already met with the breeder and discussed with them the pros and cons of the breed, whether you want a dog or a bitch, a pet only, or whether you also wish to show, work, or in the future breed from your dog. You will already have checked that the parents are K.C. registered, hip scored and eye tested, and that the price of you puppy falls within normal range for the breed. The breeder should have told you what brand of food to have available, suitable toys, bed, bowls, collar, lead etc. It is a legal requirement that in public a dog should wear a collar with a name tag giving your address etc.,so get this in advance as well.

Some breeders will also ask you to sign a form stating that if you cannot keep your dog for any reason you will return it to them for rehoming.
Huskies whose breeders cannot or will not take them back for rehoming will find themselves being taken care of in the SHCGB Welfare kennel if they are lucky.
