Advantages of K.C. Registration.

Can be shown at Open and Championship level (provided it is registered in its owners name). Can be worked in harness at official working rallies. Is proof your dog is indeed a Siberian Husky, and that his parents are also. His/her offspring may be registered (but see next section).

Since registration costs money some disreputable breeders do not bother. You should ensure that you receive the certificate when you collect your pup. If it is not available for some good reason ask for a written, signed statement that the pup will be registered and the certificate forwarded to you. Lack of the certificate and reluctance to provide such a statement will warn you that the breeder is not a bona fide respected SHCGB breeder.
