Championship Show - Coventry 2001
Date: 15 Apr. 2001
There was a good turn out to the club show in Coventry this weekend. Everybody enjoyed getting back together for a chat, especially after our rally season was cut short due to the foot and mouth disease situation. A few people turned up the night before to camp at the back of the sports hall – no major parties – just a few howling huskies.
Carpet soaked in MAFF approved disinfectant was placed at all entrances to the event. The car park quickly filled up with vans and huskies ready for the day ahead. Steve and Andrea Taylor set out the Club merchandise stall with their latest additions to the stock – Husky shaped rucksacks! It seemed like everybody was buying them and after a spot of panic buying in the morning, the club continued to do a roaring trade on all club merchandise through out the day.
The judges Keith MacCallum and John Carter worked very hard – spending most of the day on their feet. There was a change in referee from the club brochure to John Evans. He was called in at the end of the day to help with the decision for Best in Show. Congratulations go to Sally Leich, Sheryl Leich, Ali Koops & Brian Skilton for winning Best in Show with CH Forstals Nikolaas.
It was impressive start to the club show season and all enjoyed a very husky day out.
We’d like to thank all those that helped to make the day a success - those who’ve organised for many months through to those who put the chairs away at the end of the day. We’d also like to thank all that turned up – your support is always needed.
Here’s looking forward to the next.
