Research Project to Identify Genetic Mutation Responsible for Hereditary Cataract in Northern Breeds

The AHT have been conducting research in developing a test for hereditary cataracts and have received a further grant from the American Kennel Club to begin following up on their findings to date.

The next stage will be to validate any potential mutations that are found from the follow-up studies. In order to do this around £2500 additional funds are needed.

As a club I would like us to contribute £500 towards this important research. Donations of £150 have already been received.
