Southern Sled Dog Teach-in & Welfare Fun Weekend - Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st September 2008 - start 3pm

The Teach-in is aimed at Club Members who are thinking of running their dogs/thinking of getting dogs/are just about to start their First Season. However, anyone who is interested is welcome.

The afternoon programme is an informal session with talks covering all aspects of the Sport, including equipment, techniques, training tips and Club Rally Rules, etiquette and Bib Number system plus plenty of opportunities for questions. At teatime a short course will be marked out and Members will be able to run their own dogs (2 dogs, minimum age 9 months). Unfortunately dog loans will not be available, unless independently arranged through people you know who are prepared to loan you a dog(s). However, we can supply rigs, lines, harnesses, etc. Please note Beginners will only be allowed to run if you have attended the talks. The Sunday morning talks/workshops will include one aimed at mushers who have competed, but want advice to move onto the next stage.

Welfare Fun Weekend

Welfare are also holding a fun weekend in conjunction with the teach-in which will include:
Sat PM & Sun AM fun runs (rally rules apply), Welfare merchandise stall, equipment demos, Saturday evening BBQ & quiz, advice on all aspects of husky care.
Novelty Classes Event on Sunday - Judge Mrs Angie Allen. All breeds welcome. Open to Members & Non-members. Special classes for all rescue Siberian Huskies plus handsomest dog, prettiest bitch, cutest puppy, best condition, waggiest tail, best six legs, best dog, best bitch, best veteran.
Microchipping - £10 for sled dogs (£8 for more than 3) £12 other breeds.
