A Little About the Bob Thomas Talks
The archives of a ship museum in Norway yielded photographs of dogs involved in an expedition. A book on aviation history in Alaska shows a picture of some bomber pilots holding a Siberian puppy. There was mention years ago of a rock carving done by Leonhard Seppala somewhere outside of Nome. Someone mentioned in passing that he had heard that someone's father had some letters from Leonhard Seppala. Searching the attics and basements of the world for the last 15 years, Bob Thomas has amassed thousands of photographs, written and oral histories, rare books and artefacts pertaining to the Siberian Husky. The search has been half the fun.

"What we have so far is a framework of the history of our breed. We have photographs of the original foundation dogs, (although not all have been identified) and records of some of the All Alaska Sweepstakes Races with notations about specific dogs. We have trophies and photographs of others. We have letters, articles of clothing and original manuscripts of published and unpublished books. We have hours of taped interviews with people who 'were there' . . . and the search goes on . . . with luck, we might someday be able to positively identify Molinka!"
