Getting a Welfare Husky
If you are interested in adopting a Siberian Husky through SHCGB Welfare, we ask you several questions about your home, lifestyle, family, other pets and children. It is very important that you are completely honest with us; we want to find the right dog for you and your family and without the full facts we can make mistakes. Once the form is filled in and we are satisfied that a husky will suit you, a home visit is arranged. We try to do this within 2 weeks, but please be patient, especially during certain times of the year. We will get back to you as soon as we can, however if you have not heard from anyone in two weeks, call again just to make sure your details have not been lost. Once the visit has been carried out, the home visitor will call me almost immediately and if all is ok and we have a suitable dog we will notify you very quickly. If a suitable dog is not in Welfare at the time a letter will be sent informing you of this and we will call you as soon as the right dog is available. All of our dogs are assessed by experienced Husky people for a minimum of two weeks before being offered for adoption. All dogs come with 6 weeks free insurance which we strongly advise that you continue, they are vaccinated, health checked (any medical issues will be discussed prior to the adoption) one years free membership to the club and are spayed and neutered. We do not hand over any pedigrees or KC paperwork however all dogs will have a unique welfare number which will allow it to enter races if wished. We do ask for a £200 donation for most of our dogs to cover some of their expenses whilst in our care. Information about dogs currently in Welfare in need of new homes can be found by clicking here. You will also be able to read about some of the dogs who have previously been rehomed through SHCGB Welfare. Date:03 Jun 2007
