Rally Details
Please see the calendar for details of current rallies organised by the Siberian Husky Club of Great Britain. Spectators are always welcome, we just ask you to keep all dogs on a lead. For more information on spectating at rallies click here.

South Alwen Forest, North Wales
13th March 2010 - 2 day rally
Hard packed forest trails, typical for North Wales, with the added hill or two!!
Darnaway, near the village of Conicavel
27th February 2010 - 2 day rally
The race starts at a junction to 4 trails in the forest with a triangle in the middle. The start & finish(s) are all very close together & we want to get as many people parked down at the triangle as possible. Anyone parking around the triangle will be asked to put out stakeout lines in the parts of the forest next to it so as not to loose a parking place. The rest of the parking will be along the trail as you drive in on the LEFT only - please pull over to allow teams to get back to the vans. Do not turn vehicles around as there will be a one way system out of the forest through the 6 dog finish. This trail goes back on to the main road will be kept clear for emergency vehicles.
Rendlesham Rally, Rendlesham Forest, Suffolk
27th February 2010 - 2 day rally
Those of you who have raced Rendlesham before will be aware of the near-perfect trail conditions even after heavy rain. The venue offers grass trails with sandy stretches.
Dog boots will not be necessary but you might like to bring a compass and map for the many turns !!! Don’t let the many turns put you off, it keeps the dogs happy and adds to the fun of the Rendlesham Rally. Suffolk can be warm so trail distances may vary
Grimsthorpe Estate Rally, Lincolnshire
20th February 2010 - 2 day rally
The course is a mixture of forest trails and grass with a tarmac run in to the Finish. In classes after 2.5 miles there is a small ford to cross. There are no bad gradients. Rally Organisers reserve the right to alter the course if considered necessary.
Pembrey Forest Rally, Carmarthenshire, South Wales
13th February 2010 - 2 day rally
The trails as ever will include grassy flat runs, some sand, but hopefully not the previous very sandy section, some undulating & windy trails and crossing of the forestry road.
SHCGB Arden Grange Aviemore Sled Dog Rally, Glenmore Forest Park, by Aviemore
23rd January 2010 - 2 day rally
The trail is a designated cross-country ski course and is clearly defined. The Start lies just over the wooden bridge from the car park and runs parallel to the ski road for a short distance before entering the forest. The first part of the trail is quite demanding, but then runs along the lochside to the Finish without great problem. Note: Without snow, the trail can be tough on dogs' feet and care should be taken at all times, even when training.
Sherwood Pines Rally, Clipstone Forest, Nottinghamshire
9th January 2010 - 2 day rally
Standard Forestry Commission surfaces. We will be using the south side of the forest (training site, for those that know it) again this year.
Greystoke Forest, Penrith, Cumbria
2nd January 2010 - 2 day rally
Wide, hard packed trails. Undulating course, although most gradients are slight. Booting should not be necessary, although please check trail conditions on the day. Exact trail distances are subject to weather and trail conditions on the weekend of the event.
Yateley Heath Wood, near Camberley, Surrey
27th December 2009 - 1 day rally
An excitingly tricky little course, mainly hard packed, it is undulating & challenging on the control aspect, and you’ll go home feeling it’s the most fun you’ve had this season.
Dyfnant Forest, Mid Wals
19th December 2009 - 2 day rally
Dyfnant is an upland forest situated on the edge of the Cambrian mountains just south of Lake Vyrnwy. Some parts of it are more upland than others. Some people may remember the course as it’s the same one used years ago. It is made up of hard packed forestry trails that have been well maintained as this area is used a lot by trotting horses and carriages. Whichever way round we run it, the course will have a slight downhill start.

5th December 2009 - 2 day rally
Flat, smooth coastal forest trails with plenty of turns.
Quantock Quest, Great Wood, Somerset
28th November 2009 - 2 day rally
Night rally on the Saturday followed by a day rally on the Sunday. Both rallies will be held at The Great Wood, nr Bridgwater. Two exciting roller coaster trails with some straights, twists and turns to keep the dogs interested. Both trails are on hard packed aggregate. Booting should not be required but is at the mushers discretion.
Tentsmuir Forest, Fife
21st November 2009 - 2 day rally
The trail is flat on mainly forest tracks and some grassy paths, winding through the trees. The surface is very ‘husky feet’ friendly, especially early in the season.
Being so close to the sea, we are often lucky with the weather and get cool, dry days……… fingers crossed!
Tentsmuir Forest covers a large area, so this year we are hoping to include a part of the trail not used for rallies for many years.
Brandon Park, Suffolk
7th November 2009 - 2 day rally
The terrain is mostly flat - though there are some deceptive Norfolk slopes to catch you out!!! The trail surfaces are extremely kind to the dogs, being mainly grass and compact sandy trails.
Delamere Forest Night Rally, Cheshire
31st October 2009 - 1 day rally
Mostly hard packed, well drained, with some softer stretches. Plenty of turns, fast sections and a couple of little hills to keep both the musher and dogs alert.
