The Dalby Rally 2002
Dalby Forest, Thornton-le-Dale, Pickering, North Yorkshire
Date: 7 Dec. - 8 Dec. 2002
Sponsored by:
Burgess Superfeeds
The course is based on a plateau in the centre of Dalby Forest. The course is relatively flat with slight inclines and descents. NO IT IS NOT AS HILLY AS CROPTON. There is a slight incline into the finish line. It is a very fast course. The ground surface is of a fine chalk powdered crush but some dogs may need booting as it can be abrasive, especially if frozen.

| Directions |
|
Take the A64 from the A1 and head towards Malton. At Malton turn left to Pickering on A169. At roundabout in Pickering (Rally signs start here), turn right onto A170 to Thornton-le-Dale. As you drop down the hill into Thornton, turn left towards Whitby (Signposted Dalby Forest). After about 1 mile, turn right into Dalby Forest. Go through toll, down into Dalby Village, follow the Forest Drive for another 2-3 miles, past the lake, up the hill past Adderstones Fields. The rally entrance is about 1 mile past the fields and you turn right where the signs indicate. Go down this road, over the spectator point/course road crossing and the start/finish is on the next bend. |

| Notes |
|
Please be on your best behaviour with the marshals, local residents, any public and potential sponsors in attendance at the event during the weekend.
Please fill in any holes your dogs dig.
DO PICK UP YOUR LITTER. We had to clear 10 bin bags of litter and dog crap last year.
If this happens again this rally will not happen next year.
DO PICK UP YOUR DOG MESS AFTER YOU. Anyone caught not doing so will be spot fined 1 pound per dump. (Which will go to Welfare).
Finally ... remember your trail etiquette ... be nice to everyone and enjoy your run. |
